How Low Water Shut-Off Works

When water levels drop too low, the pump senses the change and automatically shuts off to help prevent overheating. Once water is restored, the pump resumes operation.

Normal Water Levels

Fully submerged, the pump operates normally.

Low Water

If water levels drop below the sensor, the pump shuts off to prevent burnout.

Normal Water Levels

When the water is added, the pump automatically turns on and resumes circulation.

Measure your fountain

Follow a few simple steps to determine the ideal pumping height for the best fountain water display.

  1. Measure from the water level to the highest point that the water reaches to find the Ideal Pumping Height.
  2. Choose a pump that has an ideal pumping height greater than the height measured.
  3. Our Fountain Pumps feature adjustable flow control. If you’re not sure which pump you need, it’s better to select a larger pump and reduce the flow.
  4. See our pump specifications table below and select the pump that best fits your fountain's needs.

*Check the area where the pump sits in your fountain. Not all fountains can house large pumps.
