Filtration
smartpond® offers different filtration options to fit every pond and water garden. One of the keys to having clear pond water is a good filtration system. Ponds can naturally filter water through the nitrogen cycle, but when the waste becomes too much it leads to water quality issues, especially in the presence of fish and turtles.
There are three stages of filtration: mechanical, biological, and UV clarification. Each stage of filtration work in different ways to help remove and breakdown organic waste and algae in the pond.

Pump Filter Boxes
Filter boxes prevent debris from entering the pump, reducing maintenance and extending longevity. They mechanically filter water with filter pads, and biologically filter water with bio-balls.

UV Clarification
The addition of a UV clarifier keeps ponds crystal clear by reducing the organisms that cause green water.

Pressure Filters
Pressurized pond filters push pond water through different types of filtration for maximum efficiency. Filter pads remove debris mechanically, and bio-balls filter water biologically.
