Whiskey Barrel Fountain Project

Create some rustic charm with this fountain project. You can have a beautiful new water feature in just a few minutes.

Items Needed

1. Prepare

First, you will need a planter that looks like a barrel and the smartpond® Filter Kit with Pump. If the planter you have chosen is porous, you will need to apply a sealant so your container can hold water. Wait for the sealant to dry before proceeding.

2. Assemble

Assemble the Filter Kit by adding tubing to the pump, place the pump in the center of the filter box, surround the pump with bio-balls, and add filter pads over the pump and bio-balls. There is a hole in the filter pads for the tubing to go through, pull the cord out of the side of the box and secure the lid, and add your fountain nozzle.

Place the filter box in the middle of your planter barrel with the cord over the side of the barrel.

3. Enjoy!

Add water over the top of the box. Add stones if using. Plug in and enjoy your new fountain!
